Lead UX/UI Designer, Product Management

Responsible for user experience, product management, visual design, design team management, user and competitor research, and mentoring of junior designers.

Taking Action

User Research

Myriad user types and business unit goals meant the research design and execution would be complex in nature. The continuous feedback channels we designed enabled low-stake but high impact suggestions from those in the field. The primary stakeholder, the family office owner, is an enthusiastic user that heavily utilizes the messaging, annotation, and property systems features we’ve developed.

End-to-End Design

I work with the Product Owner to set and execute the design vision for the product. The agreed upon OKRs shape how we evaluate the success of our design organization. From this vision, I design the initial concepts, hi-fi mockups of key screens, and highlighted user flows. Our design teams are grouped by product with the support of a part-time researcher.

Developer Handoff

The establishment of the universal Design System for the product was key in scaling our ideas, team, and vision effectively. I established Adobe XD and Figma UI Kits and Component Libraries to convey the specifications, design tokens, typography, spacing, and interactions for the application. We have specific prototypes for each user story and check-in weekly with the development teams to review features and scope future work.

Outcomes

Business Operations and Rental Income

• Dashboards and KPI reporting for managing directors for property financials including leases, short term rentals, and commercial properties
• Property managers and directors can manage employees, assign checklists, view systems status, and check on financials from the iPad and desktop applications
• Staff and management on-site leverage iPads and iPhones to run checklists, create and resolve property issues, view calendar events and property announcements

Property Development Team

• Use our data card system to track potential properties and land for purchase and development
• Capital Expenditure budgeting and forecasting tools ensure accurate valuations and financial visibility

Real Estate Investment Team

• Track pipeline, portfolio, and realized Real Estate investments for all property assets in the Family Office
• Designed the ability to share potential RE investments with external users and firms
